ABOUT US

Rhondda Cynon Taff Lifelong Learning Forum was established in 1997
as a voluntary body of representatives from across the Lifelong
Learning field within RCT. The Forum merged with the Objective One
Employability and Lifelong Learning Planning Group in September
2002.
What does the Forum do?
- The Forum seeks to enable all individuals to access and benefit
from enhanced opportunities for lifelong learning, personal development
and cultural enrichment.
- The new role will enable the Forum to see local and regional
Priority 4 Objective One bids submitted within Rhondda Cynon Taf,
and provide feedback to the Strategic Renewal Partnership.
- Contributes directly to the delivery of the Rhondda Cynon Taf
Local Action Plan by establishing and agreeing strategic priorities
for action, which will lead to sustainability.
- Takes advice from the Joint Technical Group on the viability,
effectiveness and merit of individual initiatives and projects
in determining whether they meet the aims of the Local Action
Plan.
- Creates a framework to support the establishment of new, and
the development of existing initiatives in the area.
- To provide a detailed monthly report to the Regeneration Partnership
regarding projects discussed, with sufficient information so that
an informed decision can be made on the projects acceptability.
- The Forum takes reports from relevant Action Groups and the
network group on a regular basis.
- The Forum demonstrates a commitment to equal opportunities,
social inclusion and Communities First.
- The Forum meets monthly.
